Canadian Language Sector Enhancement Program (CLSEP)

Program Overview

The Canadian Language Sector Enhancement Program is a new Public Works and Government Services Canada Program that gives effect to the commitments made by the federal government in the Roadmap for Canada's Linguistic Duality 2008-2013: Acting for the Future.

Program objectives

• Provide support for the development of a skilled labour force
• Strenghten the capacity of the Canadian language sector
  The Canadian language sector refers to the combination of the Canadian language industry and all non-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions that help support the industry. The Canadian language industry encompasses private sector organizations in three key fields of expertise: translation (including interpretation, terminology and localization), language training and language technologies.

The Program has two Components:

• University Scholarships in Translation
• Language Industry Initiative
